Guitarist and composer Kâzım Çokoğullu gave the world premiere of his own composition, "Concerto for Two Guitars and Orchestra," at Ankara Music and Fine Arts University in April 2025, accompanied by Assoc. Prof. Tayfun İlhan (Piano) and Dr. Serkan Ağır (Guitar). In July 2024, he performed "Five Folk Songs for Classical Guitar and String Quartet," with arrangements by Çokoğullu, accompanied by a string quartet composed of academics from Ankara Music and Fine Arts University, at the Bilkent Concert Hall. In April 2024, as part of the Culture Route Festival, he gave a concert as a Tanbur-Guitar Duo with tanbur artist Deniz Şahin at the Adana Museum Complex. In 2023, he gave the first performance of his composition for solo guitar, "Three Pieces for Guitar," at a solo recital on January 31, 2024, at the Kadıköy Yel Değirmeni concert hall. Following this, his first solo album, also titled "Three Pieces for Guitar," was released under the Anadolu Müzik label. His arrangements of traditional Turkish music were published by Eğitim Yayınevi in 2022 under the titles "Five Folk Song Arrangements for Classical Guitar and String Orchestra," "Turkish Music Arrangements for Classical Guitar and Classical Kemençe," and "One Composition and Two Folk Song Arrangements for Classical Guitar."

 

Throughout his career, he has given solo recitals at important festivals and concert halls such as the İzmir Ahmed Adnan Saygun Art Center, Akbank Guitar Festival, Yıldız Technical University Guitar Festival, METU Guitar Days, and the Turkish Guitar Meeting. He has performed concertos with the Eskişehir Anadolu University Orchestra, Bilkent Symphony Orchestra, Istanbul State Symphony Orchestra, Çukurova State Symphony Orchestra, Bursa Regional Symphony Orchestra, Mersin State Opera and Ballet Orchestra, and Orchestra Academic Başkent. In 2016, he was invited to the 10th Turkish Guitar Meeting held at Bilkent University, where he gave the first performance of Okay Özdağ's guitar concerto with Orchestra Academic Başkent at the Bilkent University Concert Hall, and this work was published by Çağsav in 2018 under the title Turkish Guitar Concertos. The album Meyler Süzülsün, featuring selections from the traditional Turkish music repertoire arranged by the artist for the Sırnağme group (composed of classical guitar, classical kemençe, and percussion instruments), was released by Anadolu Müzik in 2015.

    

In 2007, the artist won a very rare full scholarship to the graduate program at The Juilliard School of Music and Performing Arts in New York, considered one of the world's most prestigious music schools. He studied there for two years with renowned guitarist Sharon Isbin and graduated in 2009. During his graduate studies in New York, Çokoğullu also received scholarships from the Eczacıbaşı Foundation and the Ahmet Ertegün Foundation, awarded to successful artists studying in the United States.

 

The artist, who served as a faculty member at Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University State Conservatory between 2011 and 2020, and at Ankara Music and Fine Arts University, Faculty of Music and Performing Arts since 2020, actively continues his career as a guitarist and composer.
